 Dr. Heidenfelder received his medical degree and psychiatry residency training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center .  After completing his adult psychiatry residency training Dr. Heidenfelder completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California Rady Children's Hospital.
 Prior to starting his private practice in 2002 Dr. Heidenfelder worked for 3 years as an inpatient hospital psychiatrist at several of the psychiatric hospitals in San Diego County.  In addition, Dr. Heidenfelder has previously been the medical director at a residential adolescent psychiatric program and the medical director for an adult residential substance abuse treatment program.
   Dr. Heidenfelder has a unique and unconventional approach to mental health treatment and strives to provide an environment that is comfortable and genuine to his treatment philosophy.
